Want a Kindle before Christmas? Get ready to pay
TechCrunch [link] Last year Amazon had trouble filling orders of the then-new Kindle, so eBay took over and prices rocketed... This year, same problem: [link] I saw save a few dollars and wait for the new one to come out. You don’t want to be the guy who’s reading the old... more »

From page 3 of the UK paperback edition: "[...] all the things Science had promised us hadn't come to pass. Disease was still a problem. Starvation was still a problem. Violence and crime... more »

Westminster Style Parliaments in SF
Ignoring DOUBLE STAR (Heinlein), Piper's Federation (I think and the legislature was never on stage that I recall) and Weber Manticoran novels, can anyone name an SF novel with a Parliament like Canada's or the UK's, particularly one where the goings on in Parliament actually matter to the plot of the book?... more »
