What do I do about the weird spam bulletins being posted through my account?
Solution:
- It sounds like someone got your account info somehow. The only thing you can do is change your login information because someone has phished your account, and now they’re pretending to be you and sending out junk comments, bulletins, messages, etc. You don’t have to change your email necessarily, but definitely change your password, maybe even frequently to avoid being phished again.
Phishing is when someone tricks you into typing in your info. It usually happens when you click on a link, profile, or picture on the site and then it takes you to a fake login page. I always type in “myspace.com” to make sure I’m actually on Mysapce and not on a phishing site.
Tom posted a couple blogs on this topic you can check out here: Spammers posting bulletins and Phishing sites
There’s also some good info on the Myspace Safety Tips page. -
Do you want to report a phishing site? Email help@support.myspace.com. Provide a link or URL to the site and indicate the reason for the email. The Support team will be able to take action on the site. Thanks for helping make Myspace safe and fun for everybody! We appreciate it!
