Someone is pretending to be me - what do I do?

We can certainly help you with that. To verify your identity you’ll need to send us a salute. All that means is that we will need you to send us an image as an attachment of yourself holding up a handwritten sign that has either your Myspace.com URL or friend ID number (if you are a MySpace user). If you don’t have a MySpace profile be sure to include the email address on your sign you are sending the request from. Be sure the photo is clear and the handwriting is easy to read. If we can’t read the information and see your face clearly, then we will ask for another salute. (If you do not have access to a digital camera, please consider the accessibility of disposable cameras and digital film processing available at most drug stores). Once you send us that we will be able to remove the profile(s) in question. Make sure you include the URL of any accounts that need to be removed in your email.

Do you need help locating the URL or Friend ID?

Ok, I can help you with that. The URL or friend ID can be found by going the page of the account in question. You will need to copy the information found after http:// towards the top of your browser in the web address bar( the friend ID can be found by locating the number after the beginning of the URL http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=). To finish the process send all information /attachments to the following link. Hopefully this has helped you solve your issues, if not feel free to contact us at help@support.myspace.com.
