Kanye West is an American composer, Producer and rapper (born June 8, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia). He first gained popularity producing tracks for popular artists such as Jay-Z, John Legend, Common, The Game, Twista, Talib Kweli and Alicia Keys. In 2004 he released his first solo album, The College Dropout, and has since released Late Registration (2005) and Graduation (2007). His current album, 808s & Heartbreak, includes the hit “Love Lockdown”. He is noted for his politically-charged rhymes and controversial behavior both inside and outside the realms of music.
West was born in Atlanta, Georgia where he lived with both of his parents. When he was three years old (as mentioned in “Hey Mama”) his parents divorced, and he and his mother moved to Chicago, Illinois. His father was Ray West, a former Black Panther who was one of the first black photojournalists at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and is now a Christian counselor. Kanye’s slate mother, Dr. Donda West, worked as a Professor of English at Clark Atlanta University, and the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University before retiring to serve as Kanye’s manager. He was later raised in an upper middle class background, attending Polaris High School in suburban Oak Lawn, Illinois after living in Chicago.
After attending The American Academy of Art, a Chicago art school, West attended Chicago State University but eventually dropped out due to poor grades and in order to continue working on his music career.

i enjoyed the album, but after a while the emo-Kanye got to be a bit much. i just had a break up too; you gotta strive for healing, not melt into bitter sadness and anger. i'm betting the next album after this one should blow the others out the water. if not, then the next one will. i still believe in Kanye! and Love Lockdown is fantastic, no matter what.

His latest album is actually pretty good. Don't see a reason to hate it, if you compare an artists albums to his best one you'll always be disappointed

Nobody needs to tell me. I am entitled to my opinion and you are entitled not to read it if it bothers you that much. I'm not gonna cosign an artist's work just cuz they felt comfortable about it.and I'm not gonna just sit back and have a pepsi chump because his music is something I was and still am very passionate about so I will continue to voice my opinion. Don't like it? Too fucking bad.

wow and who in the hell told this guy he knew when someone had "lost their spark". seriously, if this is the album that he feels like making, then that's just what he feels like making, and i'd much rather hear something that the artist actually feels comfortable doing than them ignoring their emotions and continuing to follow in the paths of past projects like some sort of robot... when did you hear 'Ye say that he wouldnt ever go back to putting out true hip hop albums? i can't recall hearing him say that... so if you dont like it just sit back, have a pepsi, put a smile on, dont listen to the album, shut the fuck up, and wait for the next one!

LMAO @ kelvinbalbuena, redspyda, ill_plus You guys are HILARIOUS. Conquered Hip Hop? No artist can conquer a culture gentlemen, sorry to dissapoint you. He was always a great producer, With College Dropout and Late Registration he showed he can be a fantastic rapper. With Graduation, showed he can be a fantastic musician by being innovative. I have an open ear to many different genres of music but theres no excuse for this atrocity of an album. This new album actually makes me cringe, someone of Kanye's caliber should be ashamed to put this out. I think losing his mom really messed him up, we will probably never get quality music from him again. He's lost his spark.
