The day me, joe louis ned and jonno almost died!
well this is where it starts!
me jonno louis ned and joe went on a Dof E on the 15th to 16th of march.
On day one, we got lost within the first few km so we tryed to correct ourselves which we thought we did!
but it turned out we were about 2km away from the correct track!
not knowing this, we went through the woods, me thinking i saw a man an screaming! then realising it was a log.
heavy fog and rain came down and we could hardy see anything but we kept on going!
we eventual after about 10km got back on track by this time we were all very wet and hungry and darkness was closing in fast.
we walked to a large marsh ground were again we got lost so we set up camp, even thought we were supposed to be at llanarmen village hall, were mr braddock and mrs row, called the police and mountain rescue as we hadn't turned up.
mean while back with us, in pitch black and battling gail force wind and rain we had set up both tents, louis's had all our kit in it whilst my 3 man tent had to accomidate 5!
during the nite, the temperature feel to only a few degrees and with the rain pooring throught the tent we had a very cold and sleepless nite.
in the morning we got up with everyone with colds and louis being the worst with the first signs of hypothermea we everntually got in contact with mountain rescue who to our surpries but the phone down in our hour of need.
with louis's health deteriating rapidly joe and ned carried him whilst me and jonno tried to get in contact with anyone that we could get hold of.
unfortuantley whilst crossing a flash flood river, louis's back fell in and I ahd to jump into freezing cold water and then swim back up stream into a strong current ot get back to everyone
after taking turns to help carry louis we eventully found contact with jonno's parents and found out that the police, mountain rescue and our parents we looking for us.
about an hour later with everyone on the verge of collapse from being freezong cold, de-hydrateed, lack of sleep and warm food we meet jonno's dad and mrs row who took us back to our parents and back home.
luckily no-one was seriouisly injured or has health problems and i didnt get digs as it was my birthday on the 16th.
