I enjoy watching the Olympics because of the human effort evolved in any sport, regardless of where the athlete is from. The struggle and the emotion is the same regardless of race, reglion or political boundaries.
Arrogance in sports turns me off completely--which is why I'm not too big a fan of any US national sports organization. I can't get over the egos in order to enjoy the game. It's a simple concept: If you want me to root for you, don't make me hate you. So it's understandable when some frenchie foo faggot starts talking some shit about the American team and how they're going "crush" them, the ounce of pride I have for my country starts to swell.
If anyone didn't didn't watch the men's swim team 4x100 relay last night, you really missed out one of those Olympic moments people will be talking about for years to come. This was the event that the French were supposedly going to "crush" us on, and they were heavily favored to win. I'm not even going to attempt to describe the event, it's just something you have to watch. I will say this though: normally I'm a pretty passive observer, but this race had me jumping up and down on the couch and screaming at the TV.

Today I was surprised to see I had two users view my profile from the middle east! One in Pakistan and one in the United Arab Emirates. I'm pretty sure that's a first! How cool is that? Two people in completely foreign countries, places that I can't even imagine what they must be like, where looking at my profile!

You were a very hip, start-up internet feeling office. Located in a quasi shady side of town, an unassuming building often with graffiti on it . . .. Inside was a surprisingly hip converted warehouse, complete with sky lights and an upstairs appartment. Very San Francisco.
I will miss the convenience of being across the street from the scooter shop and the sweet free scootie parking. I will miss the tentativeness that new people enter our building with to be taken by surprise what a cool place it actually it. I will even miss the friendly bums that smile and say 'hi' while they rummage through our recycling. I will not miss what they leave behind . . ..
There are other things I will not miss, which is why sadly, like a scorned lover I must go. You're sweltering in the summer, frigid in the winner, and your toilets don't seem to work half the time. Oh sure, I can forget about times like, when sewer water was seeping through the foundation and into our carpet, but do you know how many times a day I have to pee? And you . . . you just aren't always there for me.
So yes, yes I'm leaving. Moving to a bigger place, with more than two toilets and air conditioning. Don't take it badly, it's just . . . it's just we should go our separate ways. I'm sure one day, soon, you'll find the perfect tenants. Illegal immigrants from a impoverished country who are used to sweatshop conditions and no restroom breaks. But for me, I'm afraid the romance as ended. It's not your fault, I just need to move on to bigger, better things.
