the strange case of the mysterious growing man

no joke
i have literally grown 1.5 inches in the past 4 months
at first i thought i was just going crazy
but then everyone i know started to notice
and i was sure they were all conspiring to play an elaborate joke on me
but at thanksgiving my aunt made a comment
and she is not one to conspire

just now i put on some old pyjamas
and they ended at my upper shin

i heard a rumor that my grandpa (who was 6 foot 5)
grew 5 inches his 23rd summer
but i also heard a rumor that he once punched out a tiger shark
so i always sort of wrote it off as gubler-lore

i used to have suprisingly thick thighs
the kind of thighs that shocked people when they saw them because they were so incongruous with the rest of my body
thighs like a stalky male ballerina
or the guy you want at the bottom of your human pyramid

but now they are not so thick
they are rather lean

i guess i grew that inch in my thighs

i kind of miss them

but i do like how small my feet look from way up here
like little black junebugs crawling out of my pant legs
