Tory’s Blog: Farewell Chester & More Backstage Antics!
Blog readers! I apologize for not writing in awhile. Things have been crazy at the theater in anticipation for the upcoming Tony Awards. Also, sickness has yet again hit the theater. Who had the great idea to have a number in which we all swap spit? C'mon? One person gets a cold... we all get the cold. This is literally the FOURTH round of sickness that has gone around since we moved into the Marquis in March. Oy.
The blog has now officially been technologically super-charged! Thanks to the mini-video camera the producers gave me for blogging purposes, I've managed to get some one-of-a-kind footage at work lately. Here is my on-camera intro:
Here is my personal favorite: it is the point of view of Pepper's baby coming down the birth canal during the second gurney cross of the chase scene. Though we are never told who the father of that baby is, Pepper told me yesterday that she would name the baby Howard "Skippy" Wagstaff. Hmm....
And finally, a tribute to our very own Chester Gregory, who departs our show this weekend to play Donkey in the new Broadway-bound musical Shrek. Chester is HILARIOUS and has provided his fair -share of onstage and offstage antics. Every night after his exit from the courtroom scene at the end of act one, he treats Carly to this VERY special performance on the way to his dressing room. Ooh -- and don't miss Chester's CD "in search of HIGH LOVE" which will be released on July 8th. Check out his website: www.chestergregory.com
